ES and S is looking for a motivated, capable candidate who is enthusiastic about user experience and user interface design The UX and Design Analyst at ES and S supports product development through interaction design; usability study management, and visual design leadership. ES and S products are used in the majority of US jurisdictions to run elections, and this role has a significant impact on voters and the voting process. The ideal candidate will have a passion for great design, a superb aesthetic sense, an exceptional eye for detail, and a deep appreciation for all aspects of user experience. They will also have a proven ability to quickly grasp and distill highly complex matters into clean, understandable solutions. The UX and Design Analyst will work closely with development staff, product managers, business analysts, and customers to define interaction models, wireframes, user flows, visual designs, and associated product design standards. They will also conduct and manage summative usability testing and reporting required for the federal certification of voter facing products. PORTFOLIOA portfolio is required for consideration for this position. Your portfolio should demonstrate your experience and your ability to create user:centered design solutions. Showcase your experience in UX and visual design. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Create highly effective user:focused experiences and interfaces across a variety of environments (mobile, web apps, dashboards, purpose driven devices and internal enterprise software). Create and maintain Design Guides and UI Standards documents for different product types. Create and maintain design documentation including wireframes, user flows, information architecture, and interaction design. Collaborate with a wide range of staff members to develop concepts into features during the software development lifecycle. Manage external design and usability testing contractors. Create and demonstrate interactive prototypes, and validate designs with product team, stakeholders, and users. Lead long:term initiatives to continually improve the usability, consistency and look of the ES and S products. Conduct ongoing user research : contextual inquiries, usability tests, surveys. Know when to switch from conceptual to tactical thinking and be able to deliver and receive effective, constructive design critique. Travel Limited EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE BS with 3 years experience or MS with 1 year experience in Human:Computer Interaction, Design, Computer Engineering or Management Information Systems required. Equivalent industry experience will be considered on a 2 year for 1 year basis, in lieu of education requirements. Significant hands:on software development experience, preferably with a variety of high and low level programming languages, and operating environments preferred. Web production and software experience is preferred. Summative usability testing experience preferred. Work EnvironmentNormal office environment with typical business machines.
