Technical Systems Specialist - Election Systems and Software (omaha, nebraska) in Omaha, Nebraska For Sale

The Technical Systems Specialist is responsible for installation and issue/resolution of any issues regarding Election Management Systems in compliance with State and Federal Certification. This individual is responsible for understanding aspects including security, operating systems, server and network hardware, and application interfaces to other components. The Technical Services Specialist will perform installations of Election Management Systems both at customer locations throughout the United States as well as locally in Omaha, NE. Along with the installation of these systems they will also be held accountable for any issue/resolution tickets that are escalation from our Technical Support team. The candidate will be expected to work a regular business schedule (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. M:F) and available as needed for any after:hours issues that may arise during peak election times, while carrying a company:provided cell phone at all times. Travel required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other related duties may be assigned): Conduct and coordinate on:site work and billable activities Ability to build, support, and document both Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN) Installation, configuration, or administration of network and system components including but not limited to:o Windows Server xxxx and xxxxo Windows 7, XP and XP Virtualizationo Symantec Endpoint Protectiono Adobe Acrobato WS_FTP Pro (Ipswitch)o Cerberus FTP Proo Serverso Desktop and Laptop Workstationso Telecommunications (Wireless transmission, POTS phone lines along with other forms of network communication)o Routerso Cisco ASA firewalls Proactively organize and communicate all activity prior to, during and after an installation to customers and internal resources Effectively communicate to internal stakeholders the needs and risks associated with a new installation and continued support Create appropriate network and communications systems documentation Effectively communicate to our external customers the differences in the elections network as compared to a standard IT supported network Assist with Help Desk tickets, support activity, technical efforts, and special projects as assigned Provide quality customer service and work to assure customer issues, questions, and problems are resolved Identify and refer potential selling opportunities to appropriate sales personnel Periodically submit reports and updates to management Talent Profile Motivated, active, and enthusiastic about providing quality end:to:end service to customers Ability to manage and/or maintain communication and focus on multiple simultaneous projects Propensity to understand complex processes, systems and software applications Ability to apportion necessary research, assistance, and consultation to make right:decisions Communicate technical concepts to technical and non:technical audiences Social and interactive aptitude with ability to work in cooperative team environments Ability to successfully perform duties in stressful and time:sensitive conditions Ambitious and goal oriented; aggressively pursues results Strong service orientation and commitment to assisting customers using tact and diplomacy Enjoy working with people Minimum Qualifications: The following qualifications are considered the minimum for the associate at the point of initial hire: Education and/or Experience Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Network Technology or equivalent related work experience required. Minimum of three (3) years in a technical, network technology, and/or customer support environment. Computer Skills Must be proficient with MS Office Suite, Outlook and general office communication procedures. Advanced knowledge in Networking and Troubleshooting PC Systemso Experience with computer system deployments and configurationso Experience with Microsoft Operating Systems, including Windows Servero Perform and understand Windows User Managem
